DIY Body Scrub..

Hello lovelies.. first of all.. Happy New Year!!! I cannot believe its 2016 already! Time is flying so fast! I have started a new job and it is so time consuming that I don't even understand how my day passes by. Its getting so hard to take out time for the things I enjoy..like my passion for blogging! I have started my residency at a hospital and well..we all know how hectic hospital jobs can be! Anyways I am striving to get back to blogging and plan my week in a way that I get everything done on time and still get some "Me Time".. Its one of my new year resolutions :p

So lets get back to the post.. I love exfoliating my body..especially in the winters when my skin gets all dry and flaky.  I love trying out new exfoliaters and body scrubs but it gets so difficult to find one which meets my "Perfect Body Scrub" criteria. I don't like extremely gentle scrubs as I always want the satisfaction of feeling the exfoliation and that is only achievable by a scrub that is gritty enough to really remove that dead skin. So I prefer having a home made scrub on hand for days when I can have a pamper session and properly exfoliate my body.

I decided to share my way of making a body scrub at home. First of all.. Here are the ingredients you will need:
  • Brown Sugar or simple sugar.
  • Any spa salt or body salt that is gritty. (This is optional. If not available, then the brown sugar is sufficient enough)
  • Olive oil.
  • Honey.
  • Any radiance oil or vitamin E oil. (Optional)

Step 1:

Take the spa salt in a bowl and add in the brown sugar. Mix well to blend both of them together. You can also mix white and brown sugar.

Step 2:

Add 2-3 large tablespoons of olive oil and mix well so that the olive oil blends properly with the exfoliating particles. You can add more until the desired consistency is achieved (picture 6).

Step 3:

Add 2 tablespoons of honey. Mix well until all the ingredients bind together and achieve the consistency of a scrub (Picture 8). You can add more if needed.

Step 4:

Add a few drops of your desired essential oil or any radiance oil. Vitamin E oil works best too. Mix well and transfer into a clean jar. Here is how the final product should look..

This single jar lasts me around 3-4 full body exfoliates. It really softens the skin and gives it a beautiful glow.

I hope you enjoyed this post :)
